FOOD PAIRING

From the vineyard that already supplies our bestselling Rosé bubbles, we now also offer this exceptional, multi-award-winning 2013 Cuvée Rosé. The beautiful Taltarni vineyard in the Pyrenees wine region of Victoria was established some 50 years ago, after being discovered by John Goelet, a direct descendant of the Guestier wine merchant family of Bordeaux, in a worldwide search for a site comparable to the great vineyards of Bordeaux. And from this exceptional site, Taltarni consistently produces wines of elegance and balance that uniquely express the terroir of this picturesque region, while also proudly implementing environmentally friendly practices that will ensure the long-term quality of their grapes.

The French traditions for methode traditionnelle sparkling wines are obviously very famous, and at Taltarni they have taken on this tradition at the heart of their winemaking and with exceptional success.

This very special 2013 Cuvée Rosé has indeed collected more accolades than any other wine in our range, including Gold and Best in Class at the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2018 Trophy and Blue Gold at Sydney International Wine Competition 2018 and Gold at Perth Royal Wine show 2018.

From an ideal growing season at Taltarni Estate Vineyards, the wine is salmon in colour, with aromas of brioche and rose water lifting from the glass.

This pairs perfectly with the bright red berry flavours on the palate that are accentuated with a strawberry acid. The driving length of this dry acidity is balanced with a light cream weight that fills the mouth.

Already cellared to perfection but will also age well for another 5-10 years.

Pairs beautifully with oysters, prawns, sushi and fresh seafood, creamy brie style cheeses and charcuterie boards.

Brand

Taltarni

The first wine from Taltarni Vineyards was released in 1977; immediate success followed with the wine collecting gold at the Royal Melbourne Show – an early acknowledgment of the potential of the vineyard. In 1979, Taltarni’s Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded the Los Angeles Times International Best Red Wine, ahead of world greats. At 37° latitude, the Pyrenees is in a perfect climatic band for the production of high-quality grapes. The rich soils of red clay, quartz and sandy loam create ideal growing conditions and the cool nights and warm days allow for slow ripening. Taltarni Vineyard and Winery was founded on the principles of individuality, independence and expression, which still guide us today. Combining old-world traditions with innovative new-world techniques, Taltarni produces a diverse range of high-calibre still red and white wines, and méthode-traditionnelle crafted sparklings. Remaining steadfast in our commitment to crafting refined wines of elegance and balance, Taltarni’s portfolio continues to be a reflective expression of the varietal and terroir from which our wines are born.
