As stewards of the land, Churchview has worked hard to transform the conventionally operated farm, to a fully organically operated vineyard. After 15 years Churchview gained the certification in 2020.

As part of their regional series, they pick and choose the best grapes from the best vineyards across the best winemaking regions the land down under has to offer. Ortus ranges from making classics that are true to the region to wines that offer a different perspective from typical.
Plan B!
Western AustraliaThe creation of a couple of chaps bored by what the wine business had become, who had been poking around long enough to remember when being a winemaker was fun, and drinking the stuff was good for you ... and fun. These are off-piste, off centre wines that are thoroughly delicious and will improve any occasion. All are made in a style which is fruit forward with savoury complexity, usually with an unusual twist.
Poppy the Frenchie
South AustraliaThe wines are all handpicked, with the vines also being hand pruned. Each barrel for the Grenache is chosen carefully with thought and consideration to taste. While with the Rosé, Paggy stood watching the grapes during skin contact, for the perfect blush colouring she desired. The Poppy the Frenchie Wines are also 100% vegan!
Sigurd
South AustraliaDan Graham takes the Sigurd name from his Norwegian great-grandfather, who shared a similarly mischievous outlook. Sigurd Wines was born in 2012 with just two tonnes of Grenache from Blewitt Springs, which Dan fermented on a friend’s veranda. This follows a career that has taken him to Central Otago, Alentejo, Bordeaux, Hermitage, Barolo and around New South Wales and Barossa, including a stint at Jacob’s Creek.
Taltarni
Victoria, AustraliaEstablished in 1969, Taltarni Vineyards is one of the pioneering wineries of Victoria’s Pyrenees wine region. Owner John Goelet, a direct descendant of the Guestier wine merchant family of Bordeaux, discovered and purchased Taltarni Vineyard after conducting a worldwide search for a site comparable to the great vineyards of Bordeaux.
Tokar
Victoria, AustraliaOur wines have received many accolades, and we believe this is the result of our focus on nurturing wine from the vine to the glass. The Tokar Estate vineyard was planted in the late 1990s, in the heart of the Yarra Valley’s ‘golden mile’, on Maddens Lane, Coldstream. This sought after area has produced many of the great wines the region is renowned for.
Head Wines
Barossa, AustraliaHead Wines was started in 2006 by Alex Head. It focuses on single site Rhine varietals from the Barossa and Eden Valleys in South Australia. Head Red is a barrel cull from Barossa vineyards including 'The Blonde', 'The Brunette' and 'The Contrarian' single vineyard Shiraz wines. It allows a preview of the vintage quality to come and keeps the quality of the Single vineyard wines as high as possible. The wine receives 12 months barrel age in predominantly older French hogsheads allowing the vintage and terroir to show clearly. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Dewey Station Wines
South AustraliaFounder and Winemaker of Dewey Station Wine's, Stefan Dewey, has a great fascination with the land in which our grapes are grown. A fascination that started through the enthusiastic delivery of many a unrequested geology lesson by his mentor and old friend, Stuart Bourne. Each region, sub region and individual vineyard site has it own climate, aspect and soil profile (unique DNA) that contributes to the growth and style of fruit that it produces. From the sandy loams over black clay that are typical of the Barossa's Southern Grounds to the ironstone rich, red yellow and brown loams over red clay of the Northern Grounds - distinct and identifiable characters are yielded from countless individual sites throughout the masterpiece that is the Barossa Valley. These unique variations and expressions of the land are the reason winemakers feel both spoilt and honoured to produce wines from this great region.
Whistler Wines
Barossa, AustraliaGrape growing has been part of the Pfeiffer family way of life for four generations. Founder, Martin Pfeiffer grew up on a vineyard, as his father before him, and afforded his kids the same opportunity at Penfolds’ Kalimna Estate. As Penfolds’ Head Vineyard Manager, Martin was fortunate enough to obtain cuttings from the famous ‘Grange’ vineyards (the Kalimna 3C clone), which were the 1st plantings on the estate in 1994. Still family owned, by Martin’s son Sam, the vineyard is now run using organic and biodynamic practices to produce both quality fruit and exceptional wines.
