A great vintage of our bestselling bubbles. Premium dry sparkling made from Champagne-style grapes, and beautifully Tache into this excellent sparkling rose. Tache is the French word for stained. At disgorging the wine is stained with red wine, which imparts the unique taste and elegant salmon colour. Taltarni’s Tache is a blend of three classic Champagne varietals Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, and this exquisite sparkling wine was fermented in its bottle and matured on yeast lees according to traditional methods. 2012 was another great growing season for sparkling fruit at Taltarni.
An extended cool summer, with moderate rainfall, but little disease, which allowed the fruit to ripen slowly on the vine, creating complex and distinct varietal characters along with succulent natural acidity.
This wine has developed lovely structure and secondary yeast characters because of its time on lees, displaying a hint of bread on the nose, which is balanced with a creamy texture.
The addition of aged Pinot Noir at disgorging produces beautiful complimentary strawberry and rose petal aromatics and a balance of acidity and sweetness, which results in a truly elegant sparkling rosé.
Serve as a welcome drink or next to freshly shucked oysters.

The first wine from Taltarni Vineyards was released in 1977; immediate success followed with the wine collecting gold at the Royal Melbourne Show – an early acknowledgment of the potential of the vineyard. In 1979, Taltarni’s Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded the Los Angeles Times International Best Red Wine, ahead of world greats.
At 37° latitude, the Pyrenees is in a perfect climatic band for the production of high-quality grapes. The rich soils of red clay, quartz and sandy loam create ideal growing conditions and the cool nights and warm days allow for slow ripening.
