Description
This Tweed River Cabernet from the brilliant team at St Johns Wine and the Blackwood Valley region of Western Australia offers up the winning combination of exceptional flavours and awesome value. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were all sourced from the vineyard’s premium blocks and crushed, destemmed, and fermented in small open fermenters. Hand plunged and matured in seasoned barriques for 16 months paving way for the impressive flavours profile of the wine. This really is a fruit laden Cabernet with beautiful aromas of blackberries and blood plums guiding you into the pronounced flavours of cassis and sour cherries, supported by fine, cedary oak and liquorice spice. Delicious to drink now but has the tannins and acid drive to improve with time. Serve next to almost any kind of red meat, including prime rib, New York strip and filet mignon, or perhaps with your homemade Moussaka.
